Streamlined Solutions: XMAS Web App for Christmas Tree Operations & Reportify for Welding Quality Reports - Enhancing Efficiency with Cutting-Edge Technologies
XMAS
Xmas is a web application designed to streamline the complex process of managing Christmas tree operations during the demanding October-December period. It assists wholesalers by providing real-time task updates from field workers, improving efficiency and collaboration in an industry where expertise is passed down through generations.
The web application is designed following Google's Material Design philosophy. I first upgraded the UX design based on a previous version of the program, then coded it using Angular and Firebase. In 2023, it operated seamlessly without support, despite high activity. This success is attributed to adhering to robust programming principles and best practices.
Reportify
In the welding industry, ISO certified companies often need to submit comprehensive Welding Quality Reports to third parties for inspection. These reports require the welding coordinator to gather various documents, including welding certificates, material certificates, consumable certificates, additional reports, photos, etc., and merge them into a single report. Traditionally, this process involved printing and scanning all documentation, which was extremely time-consuming.
Reportify is a web application that simplifies this process by seamlessly combining all relevant documents from a welding project into a single, cohesive PDF report. Inspired by "Google Drive," Reportify offers an intuitive storage solution that users can easily navigate. Users can not only store their welding documentation but also "Reportify" these uploaded documents into a comprehensive PDF report featuring page numbers, topics, relevant information, and digital bookmarks.
For the front-end client data architecture, I chose to use the Redux Pattern (NgRX). This approach was beneficial as it made it easier to assign tasks to our new front-end developer, without requiring them to learn the more observable-heavy parts of the application.
Reportify is built using a range of cutting-edge technologies, including Angular 8, NgRx, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Ghostscript, and PostScript for the PDF generator. The design is based on Angular Material Design principles, ensuring a visually appealing and user-friendly interface.
